About

Selamat datang, and γεια σας! (Welcome and hello!) My name is Airinie Konstantinidou, a Malaysian living in Athens, Greece for quite a number of years and married to one. This blog is an attempt to document my cooking experiments - successes and failures (I have quite a number of the latter!).

My journey into cooking started quite early - helping out in the kitchen and observing the wonderful women in my life while I was growing up. All the curries, stews, and other wonderful foods at family gatherings (that happen often!) and also simple everyday cooking secrets that I have treasured. From a 'mere helper' to 'cook-or-you-will starve', this transition happened when I was 19 years old as I left Malaysia for the United Kingdom in pursuit of education and happiness. And I have never looked back since.

Some of the recipes here are adapted from old family word-of-mouth recipes, from recipe books and online, and a few of them are of my own concoction, albeit based on original recipes, but adulterated with the alterations that tickles my taste buds. They are a mixed bag - a mish mash. It is as eclectic as it can be.

But its not just the food and the photos that I will try to record here, it is also the stories and cherished memories, and experiences of cooking, eating, shopping and everything else in between (food-wise!).

I am not a professional photographer, an amateur at best. All of the pictures here are taken on my Canon DSLR 450d, or my iPhone 5. Some of them might go through some editing (Starmatic or Photoshop).

Enjoy!
